HOW IT HAPPENED
- Entering their bout with Skyway rival Hilbert College, the Bengals were eager to build early momentum — and they did just that, striking first with a goal in the eighth minute to grab the early lead. The Bengals controlled possession for much of the first half, but a defensive miscue allowed the Hawks to equalize in the 23rd minute. Despite several quality chances, the Bengals couldn't break through again before halftime, heading into the break locked at 1-1.
- A spirited halftime talk lit a fire under the Bengals, who came out with renewed energy and struck quickly in the 45th minute to reclaim the lead. From there, the Bengals kept pressing, adding two more unanswered goals to build a commanding three-goal advantage. The Bengals' defense held firm the rest of the way, limiting the Hawks' opportunities and cruising to a decisive home victory in this non-conference showdown.
