Ella Wittman (Cheektowaga, NY/Springville Griffith) of the Buffalo State women's volleyball team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week presented by UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
Valentic, a senior criminal justice major, tallied a goal and as assist in Buffalo State's win over Hilbert on Saturday. On the year, Valentic shares the team lead with six points on two goals and a pair of assists.
The women's soccer team returns to action tomorrow night as they will travel to Houghton to battle the Highlanders.
Wittman, a junior journalism major, posted another strong week for the Bengals as they went 3-1 including and unbeaten 3-0 stretch at the University of Rochester Tournament. Across 17 sets played, Wittman totaled 65 kills with a .242 attack percentage, four service aces, 61 digs, and nine blocks. Her best showing was a 20-kill effort in a five-set win over Geneseo. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
The women's volleyball team returns to action this weekend as they will host their annual Bengal Challenge Tournament.
