BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's hockey team, led by head coach Steve Murphy, has announced the addition of Justin Cmunt to the coaching staff as an assistant coach.
Cmunt joins the Bengals after most recently playing with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). Cmunt also played two years at Division 1 Mercyhurst where he netted six goals with three assists across 38 games. He then finished his collegiate career at SUNY Geneseo where he tallied 23 goals and 16 assists across 45 games.
Following the 2021-22 season, Cmunt earned Second Team All-SUNYAC honors as a member of a Knights team that reached the NCAA National Championship. He scored a goal and tallied an assist in Geneseo's NCAA Quarterfinal win over Babson and finished second in the country with nine power play goals.
