HOW IT HAPPENED
- After splitting their last two road SUNYAC matchups, the Bengals returned to the Sports Arena hoping to secure a home win as they hosted the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons.
- In the first half, both teams traded baskets before falling into an 11-11 deadlock, as defense made scoring tough to come by. A 9-0 run from the Red Dragons would propel them past the Bengals at the midway point of the half, putting the Bengals at a seven-point deficit. As halftime neared, the Bengals would struggle to contain the Red Dragons' scoring affair and would trail by double digits heading into halftime.
- In the second half, the Bengals clawed their way back into this matchup, forcing pressure on the Red Dragons in their own end and chipping away at the two-possession deficit. However, the Red Dragons would crack the Bengals' pressure, finding plays in transition and knocking down some threes to bring the game back to a double-digit deficit. While the fight was there for the Bengals, a comeback would fall short, as they would fall at home to the Red Dragons in this SUNYAC matchup.
FOR THE FOES
- Cam LaClair led all scorers with 24 points, with Nicholas Cortez finishing with 17 points.
- As a team, the Red Dragons shot 52.7% from the floor and 76.9% from the free-throw line.
