- Buffalo State came away with a pair of goals in the opening period as Ryan Messing (Hamburg, NY/Metro Jets) and Micale each scored.
- Kiriakov netted his first goal of the evening just over a minute into the second period. Morrisville got on the board later into the period despite the Bengals leading 3-1 into the final 20 minutes of action.
- The Bengals scored three goals in the third period as they cruised in the final minutes of action.

- Chad Lowe made 43 saves in goal in the effort for the Mustangs.
