INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Chyann Kelly (Bailey, CO/Platte Canyon) scored a team-high 12 points for the Bengals, shooting 4-11 from the field and hitting three three-pointers.
  • Mya Brown (Buffalo, NY/Frontier) continued to be a force in the rebounding department, finishing with a team-high nine rebounds to lead the Bengals, with Amya Moore (Hudson, NY/Hudson) racking up eight rebounds.
  • As a team, the Bengals shot 26.2% from the floor, 35.0% from beyond the three-point line, and 27.3 % from the free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a tough outing last night against the Oswego State Lakers, the Bengals looked to rebound as they hosted the SUNY Canton Roos.
  • In the opening quarter, the Bengals fell behind after the Roos went up 10-0, but found their footing and trimmed their deficit to single digits. As the quarter progressed, the Bengals would continue to hold the Roos to tough looks at the basket, but a strong Roos defensive effort would also limit the Bengals' chances, as the Bengals trailed at the end of the first quarter.
  • In the second quarter, the Bengals' deficit grew as the Roos started hot from the floor. While the Bengals looked trim their deficit back within single digits, the Roos would keep their grasp on this matchup, as the Bengals would trail into halftime by double digits.
  • Exiting the halftime break, the Bengals looked to gain some momentum and start a run back into this matchup. A 7-0 run from the Bengals would build the momentum needed, but the Roos would respond with a 9-0 run of their own, silencing the Bengals' comeback hopes as play entered the final quarter.
  • In the fourth, play would slow down as the Roos played keep away and the Bengals pressed to trim their deficit. A high effort Bengal team would keep shots limited, but the Roos would hold strong, dropping the Bengals in the Sports Arena.
FOR THE FOES
  • Hope Aniceto led all scorers with 25 points, with Sierra Pabo chipping in with 14 points.
  • As a team, the Roos shot 36.4% from the field, 42.9% from behind the three-point line, and 72.7% from the free-throw line.
UP NEXT
The Bengals will aim for a comeback over the next few days as they return to the Sports Arena to host the Cortland Red Dragons next Tuesday at 5:30 PM.
