INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
  • Remi Skvorc (Helsinki, Finland/Sotogrande International) led the Bengals with 13 points, going 6-11 from the floor. Chisom Ani (Elmont, NY/John Browne) backed up Skvorc with 11 points, while also leading the Bengals with eight rebounds.
  • Daquan Williams (Syracuse, NY/Nottingham) led the Bengals with six dimes to back up his eight points, which included going 2-3 from behind the arc.
  • As a team, the Bengals shot 39.2% from the field, 23.1% from beyond the arc, and 47.6% from the free-throw line.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Returning to action following the December Break, the Bengals looked to start the second half of their season on a strong note as they hosted the SUNY Morrisville Mustangs in the Sports Arena.
  • The Mustangs set an early pace with their run-and-gun offense, surging to a double-digit lead. The Bengals chipped away in brief bursts, but each push was quickly answered by tough Mustang defense and quick transition points. At halftime, the Bengals trailed by 13.
  • In the second half, the script would remain the same early, as the Bengals would claw their way back into a single-digit deficit, before the Mustangs would hit some tough baskets to extend their lead back to double digits. As play crept under 15 minutes of action, the Bengals would find some rhythm as they knocked down some tough baskets of their own, while forcing the Mustangs to cough up the ball with some tight defense. After getting this bout within two possessions, the Bengals held the momentum firmly in their hands, but credit to the Mustangs, who kept answering back against the Bengals…holding on just enough to drop the Bengals at home.
FOR THE FOES
  • Avion Grainger led all scorers with 22 points, while Jalyn Moorehead backed him up with 14 points.
  • As a team, the Mustangs shot 44.6% from the floor and 86.4% from the free-throw line.
