HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Closing out a three-game SUNYAC road stretch, the Bengals looked to complete their conference road schedule undefeated as they battled the SUNY Potsdam Bears this afternoon.
  • As the first set began, both sides traded points before the Bengals found their rhythm early, rattling off four straight points to take the lead. After the Bears responded with three straight points of their own, the Bengals followed up with a five-point rally to retake control of the set. This strong wave of play led to another Bengals run, this time of six straight points, helping them pull away and take the first set over the Bears.
  • In the second set, the Bengals kept their momentum rolling with back-to-back rallies of three straight and four straight points to take an early lead. As play continued, the Bears found chances to stay step-by-step with the Bengals, but the Bengals' defense forced the Bears into mistakes. Buffalo State took advantage late, stringing together four straight points to claim the second set.
  • In the final set of action, the Bengals turned up their play from the previous two sets, dominating the Bears from the jump with a six-point run. The set featured a wave of Bengals scoring runs, including stretches of three straight and five straight points, followed by a late seven-point run that helped them glide past the Bears and secure their fifth consecutive SUNYAC win without dropping a set.

FOR THE FOES

  • Noelle Redeye led the Bears with six kills, while Isabella Miller finished with nine assists.
  • Defensively, Rachel Madore led all players with 15 digs, while Ashley Shiu led all players with two solo blocks at the net.
