HOW IT HAPPENED
- After taking down the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons last night, the Bengals returned to Sports Arena to host the SUNY Delhi Broncos for Senior Day.
- The Bengals opened the first set in the fashion we've come to know them for this season, storming out on the Broncos behind a four-straight point run and a six-straight point run. Those runs propelled the Bengals past the Broncos, and they used another four-straight point run to claim the first set.
- The second set told the same story, as the Bengals outplayed the Broncos throughout, using a ten-straight point run to claim the set with their eyes on a sweep.
- In the final set, the Bengals jumped out quick once again, using a five-straight point run to hold the lead late into the set. However, the Broncos pushed the Bengals to the brink, storming back behind a four-straight point rally of their own and capitalizing on Bengal mistakes to create a tight finish. Credit to the Bengals, who returned to their strong play to close out the Broncos and claim a much-deserved Senior Day win. The win also officially clinched the Bengals' spot in the SUNYAC playoffs, with their final seeding to be determined in their last SUNYAC matchups.
FOR THE FOES
- Skyler Furtado and Nevelle Taylor each finished with seven kills, with Peyton Bruce leading the way with 15 assists.
- Defensively, Taylor also led the Broncos with six digs.
