- After the Cardinals got the scoring late in the first period on a power play opportunity, Plattsburgh added another goal late in the period to jump out to an early 2-0 lead.
- Both sides couldn't find the back of the net in the second period as the score remained 2-0 entering the final 20 minutes of action.
- Despite a late push from the Bengals, the Cardinals added another goal in the third period to seal the conference win.
