HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Falling to Utica University in their last outing, the Bengals looked to rebound in their non-conference matchup against the Hilbert College Hawks.
  • The Bengals would take control in this matchup, storming out to a three-goal lead in the first five minutes of action. This would lead to an onslaught by the Bengals throughout the remainder of the first quarter, as they scored seven straight goals and led by 10 heading into the second quarter.
  • The Bengals kept their momentum with back-to-back goals to start the second quarter. They kept the Hawks off the scoreboard for the rest of the half. The Bengals scored two more goals and led by 14 at halftime.
  • In the second half, the Bengals limited the Hawks' chances by keeping the ball in the Hawks' defensive zone. This full-team effort from all ends of the field resulted in the Bengals scoring nine goals in the second half, cruising to a shutout win over the Hawks in non-conference play.
FOR THE FOES
  • Summer Newman and Olivia Cleary each saw time in net for the Hawks, each making five saves.
UP NEXT
The Bengals will continue their home stretch of non-conference play as they host the Grove City College Wolverines this Saturday at 1:00 PM in their 'Every Child Matters' game.
