CLERMONT, FL – The Buffalo State softball team closed out their Florida trip with a combined 22 runs and 24 hits in a pair of dominant wins over St. Lawrence and Luther.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Erin Paolilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) and Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) each had three hits and two RBI while Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) drove in three runs.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) picked up two hits and earned the win on the mound in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Paolilli ripped a two-run double in the bottom of the first, Burck drew a bases loaded walk to give the Bengals an early 3-0 lead.
- St. Lawrence was held quiet until the third inning when the rallied for three runs to even the score. Buffalo State responded immediately in the bottom half of the inning with three runs of their own following a pair of hits and an error from the Saints.
- The Bengals capped off the five-inning affair with six runs in the fifth inning. Burck sealed the win for the Bengals with a two-run single.
FOR THE FOES
- Isabel Moreno drove in two runs for the Saints.
- Izzy Melanson took the loss on the mound after allowing six runs, two earned, over three innings of work.
GAME TWO BASICS

RECORDS: Buffalo State: 8-4 (0-0 SUNYAC), Luther: 7-6 (0-0 A-R-C)
INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Quagliana and Megan Galbraith (Lewiston, NY/Lewiston-Porter) each had three hits to lead the Bengals. Galbraith also drove in four runs for Buffalo State.
- Gianna Core (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) picked up the win on the mound after pitching 5.1 innings of relief with four strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After each side exchanged a run in the first inning, the Bengals scored twice in the second inning after a base hit from Galbraith and a groundout from Ashley Jedrich (Victor, NY/Victor).
- Buffalo State rallied for three more runs in third inning before adding another three runs in the fifth inning to take a 9-2 lead.
- Quagliana laced an RBI hit in the sixth before Luther would plate two runs in the bottom half of the inning.
- Despite some late life from Luther, Core was able to shut the door on a fourth straight win for Buffalo State.
FOR THE FOES
- Raven Allen and Avery Nehring each had two hits.
- Isabelle Staton took the loss on the mound after pitching 2.1 innings with three strikeouts.
