BUFFALO, NY– The Buffalo State softball team extended their win streak to six games today following a pair of shutout wins over SUNY Canton on the Buffalo State Softball Field. The Bengals have also posted four straight shutouts overall.
GAME ONE BASICS

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Ashley Jedrich (Victor, NY/Victor), Mya Hurley (Williamsville, NY/Amherst), and Ella Stewart (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) each had two hits for Buffalo State. Hurley also drove in a pair of runs.
- Izzy Pezdek (Lancaster, NY/Grand Island) was dominant on the mound going five innings allowing one hit with seven strikeouts. Madison Lucas (Oakdale, PA/West Allegheny) came in and picked up the save with two innings of relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hurley got the scoring started for the Bengals in game one with a sac fly to score Jedrich.
- In the third innings, Lexi Quagliana (Williamsville, NY/Williamsville South) drove in a run with a sac fly of her own, giving Buffalo State a 2-0 lead.
- Hurley added another insurance run for the Bengals with an RBI hit in the fifth inning.
- The Canton offense was held quiet throughout game one as Lucas sat down the Roos 1-2-3 in the seventh inning to seal the win.
FOR THE FOES
- Sydney Tanner took the loss on the mound after going six innings allowing three runs on eight hits.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Jedrich, Erin Paolilli (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington), and Briana Fitzgerald (Rensselaer, NY/Rensselaer) each tallied two hits.
- Paolilli and Natalie Burck (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) each drove in three runs.
- Jean Rogers (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) earned the win on the mound after three innings allowing just three hits, one walk, and tallying three strikeouts. Gianna Core (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) pitched two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Buffalo State got the offense going early with 12 runs in the first two innings. To get things started, Quagliana laced an RBI hit following by a three-run triple from Burck.
- The Bengals scored eight times in the second inning. After an RBI hit from Jedrich, Buffalo State capitalized on a defensive miscue from Canton to rally and score seven more runs.
- In the bottom of the fourth, the Bengals pushed three more runs across.
- Core struck out the side in order in the fifth to seal the sweep for the Bengals.
FOR THE FOES
- Three different Roos picked up a hit in the effort.
