BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's outdoor track & field team continued their season today at the annual UB Spring Invite.
 
THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN

• Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) set the school record in the 5,000-meter with a time of 15:10.94. The previous mark was set by Alex Ngabo with a time of 15:23.36 back in 2013.
• Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry) also had a record setting performance with a win in the shot put at 12.49 meters, breaking the previous mark from Ann Marie Kropovitch of 12.48 meters back in 1987. She was also fifth in the hammer throw.
• Jalil Coppedge finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.81 seconds. Julius Arias (Lackawanna, NY/Lackawanna) was sixth with a time of 15.97 seconds. Coppedge later finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with Nolan Lyon (North Tonawanda, NY/Niagara-Wheatfield) finishing third and Arias fourth.
• Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) won the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.47 with Shamiah Brown (Buffalo, NY/Hutch Tech) was ninth at 1:00.00. Sawyer later earned a second place finish in the 200-meter.
• Terrell Price (Depew, NY/Depew) crossed the line fourth in the 400-meter with a time of 50.25. He later finished fourth in the 200-meter.
• Price teamed-up with Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East), Pablo Ortiz (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East), and Shiloh Cornel (Cambria Heights, NY/Cardozo) for a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.
• The trio of Bryan Honan (Cortland, NY/Cortland), Donovan DuBard (Cheektowaga, NY/Cheektowaga), and Ethan Mitrano (Penfield, NY/Penfield) finished 4-5-6, respectively in the hammer throw. Mitrano was later fifth in the shot put.
