HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Closing out their road portion of the regular season, the Bengals made one last stop for SUNYAC action, taking on the Cortland Red Dragons.
  • Action would slowly develop in the first quarter as the Bengals' defense made up for some early offensive mistakes. The Bengals offense would repay the favor, scoring the first goal of the day and taking an early lead. However, this would be the only lead for the Bengals on the day, as the Red Dragons scored 10 unanswered goals to close the quarter and left the Bengals trailing heading into the second quarter.
  • The pivotal turning point came after the Bengals' lone goal of the first quarter. Early in the second quarter, the Red Dragons scored, sparking a run of four unanswered goals that established a commanding double-digit lead. Although the Bengals scored late in the quarter, they still faced a substantial deficit at halftime.
  • Exiting halftime, the Bengals defense stepped up again and held the Red Dragons in check for much of the third quarter. Both teams traded goals midway through. However, the Bengals' deficit grew as the Red Dragons added two more goals to close the quarter.
  • In the fourth quarter, the Bengals outscored the Red Dragons, 2-1. Despite their hard-fought effort, the Bengals fell in their final road regular-season game of the 2026 campaign.
FOR THE FOES
  • Brooke Elizalde led the Red Dragons with eight points, scoring two goals and adding six assists.
  • Trinity Parks earned the win in net. Mia Bella Love also saw action, making two saves.
