HOW IT HAPPENED
- Picking up a home win over the SUNY Potsdam Bears in their last outing, the Bengals returned to the road with a matchup against the Oswego State Lakers.
- In the first quarter, the Bengals would fall behind early, as the Lakers scored within the first minute of play. A Bengals response would tie this matchup, but the Lakers would respond with four goals to close the quarter, with the Bengals trailing by four heading into the second quarter.
- In the second quarter, the Bengals' deficit widened as the Lakers rode the momentum to add three more goals. A Bengals goal midway through play would slow down play, but the Lakers would add three more goals to close out the first half, with the Bengals looking for ways to stay within this SUNYAC matchup at halftime.
- Exiting halftime, both sides traded goals to open the quarter. The Lakers then slowed the pace, making a comeback tough for the Bengals. This slower play favored the Lakers, who added two more goals to close out the half, forcing the Bengals into a double-digit deficit in the final quarter.
- After entering the fourth quarter trailing, the Bengals struggled to gain enough momentum to stage a comeback. They were outscored 3-1 in the final period and ultimately fell to the Lakers for their first SUNYAC loss of the season.
FOR THE FOES
- Alexis Hill led the Lakers with six points on four goals and two assists, while Cassidy Croce finished with five points on five goals.
- Alana Iacovissi picked up the win in net, making four saves. Sophia Diaz also saw time, making four saves as well.
