BUFFALO, NY – The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) recognized its 2026 outdoor track & field all-conference teams with 11 different Bengals earning the recognition. To earn All-SUNYAC in track & field, athletes must finish in the top three in their respective event.
Natalia Sawyer (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont),
Nyla Wilson-Epps (Buffalo, NY/Tapestry), and
Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) led the way for the Bengals as they each earned First Team All-SUNYAC following wins in their respective events. Sawyer won her third career outdoor title in the 400-meter hurdles while Wilson-Epps took home first career title in the discus throw with a school record mark of 42.50 meters, and Curiel took home his first career title in the 10,000-meter with a time of 32:05.69. Curiel also earned a Third Team All-SUNYAC in the 5,000-meter run. In addition, Wilson-Epps and Curiel were each named Rookie of the Meet.
Sidney Morris (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) was the other two-time All-SUNYAC Bengal with a second place finish in the 800-meter run and was the second leg of the third place finishing 4x400-meter relay. Morris was joined on the relay by
Terrell Price (Depew, NY/Depew),
Pablo Ortiz (West Seneca, NY/West Seneca East), and
Shiloh Cornel (Cambria Heights, NY/Cardozo) who all earned their first career All-SUNYAC recognition.
Jalil Coppedge (Bronx, NY/Ralph R. McKee) took home Third Team All-SUNYAC following a third place finish in the 110-meter hurdles for his second career all-conference recognition.
Bryan Honan (Cortland, NY/Cortland) was Second Team All-SUNYAC after crushing his own school record with a mark of 58.74 meters in the hammer throw.
Rounding out the field for the Bengals is a pair of first time All-SUNYAC finished as
Heidi House (Sanborn, NY/Starpoint) was third in the high jump and
Ethan Mitrano (Penfield, NY/Penfield) was third in the shot put.
The Bengal men finished third overall while the women took home fifth. Those who have qualified will compete at AARTFC Regionals next week at Ursinus.
