BROCKPORT, NY – The Buffalo State men's and women's cross country teams opened the seasons today at the Brockport Tom Balon Alumni Classic at Sweden Town Park. The men finished fourth overall out of ten scoring teams while the women were fifth out of eight scoring teams.
 
THE BENGAL BREAKDOWN

• Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) and Noah Holden (Clarence Center, NY/Clarence) led the Bengal men finishing 10^th and 11^th overall, respectively. Curiel crossed the line with a time of 16:29 while Holden followed shortly after at 16:34.
• Josh Mayer (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott) also posted a sub-17:00 finish with a time of 16:53; good for 23^rd overall out of over 150 runners. Carson Hinkle (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) and Luke Triplet (Depew, NY/Depew) rounded out the scoring for the Bengals as they each finished within the top-60 overall.
• For the women, Ayla Harrington (Lima, NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) was the first to cross the line for the Bengals with a time of 21:23; finishing 27^th overall.
• Jorja Smith (Tonawanda, NY/Kenmore East) finished shortly after Harrington with Emma Palumbo (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster), Katelyn Becker (Buffalo, NY/School for Applied Tech), and Heidi House (Sanborn, NY/Starpoint) rounding out the scoring for Buffalo State.
