MEADVILLE, PA – The Buffalo State men's soccer team picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 final over the Allegheny Gators this afternoon at the Robertson Athletic Complex.

INSIDE THE BENGAL BOX SCORE
- Jay Ellis (Queens, NY/HSLEAPS) scored twice for the Bengals posting his first scoring performance with Buffalo State.
- Faisal Samim (Baldwinsville, NY/Liverpool) picked up an assist.
- Carson Smith (Big Falts, NY/Horseheads) made six saves in goal for the Bengals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With a scoreless start to the first half, Michael Chinov (Staten Island, NY/New Dorp) was able to steal a pass from Allegheny that Samim was able to send up field for Ellis to score.
- Coming out of halftime, the Gators were able to capitalize on a penalty kick opportunity to even the score at 1-1.
- With just over five minutes left in the action, Ellis dribbled through multiple Gator defenders and was able to find an opportunity to shoot and score the eventual game winner.
- Buffalo State was able to kill the clock to secure their first win of the season.
FOR THE FOES
- Will Gruca scored the lone goal for the Gators.
- Cadan Bennett made four saves in the effort.
