BUFFALO, NY – Ricky Curiel (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) of the Buffalo State cross country team and Olivia Kilmer (Hammondsport, NY/Avoca) of the Buffalo State women's soccer team have been named Bengal Athletes of the Week, presented by UBMD Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
 
Curiel, a sophomore electrical engineering major, continued right where he left off from his freshman campaign posting a tenth-place finish overall out of over 150 runners at the Brockport Invite on Saturday. The reigning-SUNYAC Rookie of the Year led the Bengal men to a fourth place finish out of ten teams with a time of 16:29 on the 5k course, just four seconds off of the Buffalo State school record.

The cross country team returns to action next weekend at the Rochester Yellowjacket Invite.
 
Kilmer, a junior speech pathology major, scored twice in Buffalo State's season opening win over the Hilbert Hawks on Tuesday. Following her four point effort, Kilmer now sits just four points away from 50 in her career. That would place her in a tie for tenth place all-time in program history.

The women's soccer team returns to action tomorrow as they will host Brockport for another non-conference battle.
