Remembering the Pioneers of Buffalo State Football
Before Buffalo State officially adopted football as a varsity sport in 1981, a team of pioneers took the field as a club in 1980 and layed the groundwork for Bengals' Football.
Led by head coach Les Dugan, the 1980 Bengals posted a 3-3 record:

Buffalo State is forever grateful to of the young men of the 1980 football club. It was their passion, dedication and commitment that enabled the college to officially establish football as an NCAA varsity sport in 1981.
