Montana joined the Bengals' coaching staff in 2019 after one season serving as a volunteer assistant coach.
He came to Buffalo State after completing five years as a kicking coach at the Hammer Kicking Academy located in Orlando, Fla.Â
Prior to his stint at the Hammer Kicking Academy, he played three years with the Bengals from 2014-16 where he set six all-time program records and was a two-time All-Empire 8 first-team member and a one-time Division III All-American honorable mention. Following his career at Buffalo State, Montana spent a season kicking for Long Island University where he was a Division II All-American honorable mention.
A native of Youngstown, N.Y., Montana completed his bachelor's degree in Industrial Psychology with an associate's degree in Science for Education.
