Matt Hanhold

Matt Hanhold joined the Bengals coaching staff in 2008 to work with the team's wide receivers.  Since his arrival at Buffalo State, he has helped transform the Bengals' receiving corps into the most dynamic group in the NJAC, and mentored three All-Conference receivers in Rob Smith, Jarrett Smith and Greg Meyer.  Hanhold is a native of Youngstown, Ohio, and came to Buffalo State after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Clarion University of Pennsylvania the two seasons where he coached defensive backs and wide receivers.  At Clarion, he coached two all-conference players, one All-American and the 2007 PSAC Rookie of the Year.  As a player, he was a three-year letter-winner and team captain as a defensive lineman at Westminster College, earning All-PAC honors as a senior.  Hanhold earned his bachelor's from Westminster in political science and completed his master's at Clarion in rehabilitative studies.  He resides in South Buffalo.
