Dawan joined the Bengals coaching staff for the 2018-19 season after completing his bachelor's degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland.
A four-year student-athlete for the Red Dragons, he was an All-American triple jumper and was a six-time NCAA qualifier. He also captured four SUNYAC championships in the triple jump and was the 2018 SUNYAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year.
A native of Buffalo, Jones has also coached jumps at Tapestry Charter School where he was a standout athlete in high school, winning the 2014 indoor and outdoor Section VI Championships in the long and triple jumps.
