Jessica Wilcox

Jessica Wilcox enters her first year as an assistant coach for the Buffalo State softball team in the 2023-24 school.  

Wilcox makes her way to Buffalo State after most recently serving as Assistant Commissioner of the Empire 8 Conference from 2021 to 2023. During her two-year term, Wilcox's job responsibilities included assisting with public relations and social media efforts, overseeing graphic design, video, and marketing programs, and serving as advisor for the Empire 8 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Wilcox also added the title of Senior Woman Administrator for the 2022-23 school year.
 
A Forestville, NY native, Wilcox completed a stellar five-year career at Alfred University in 2021. She broke the Saxons' career pitching records for wins (54), strikeouts (653), and shutouts (20), holds the top three single-season strikeout totals and top two single-season shutout marks, and pitched the program's first perfect game (no baserunners allowed) against the University of Minnesota Morris in 2020.
 
As a graduate student in 2021, Wilcox pitched to a 18-5 record with 18 complete games, eight shutouts, a 1.48 earned run average, and 257 strikeouts in 156.1 innings pitched. She was honored on the All-Empire 8 first team, as the conference's pitcher of the year, a NFCA All-Northeast Region first team selection, and second team NFCA Division III All-American.
 
Wilcox completed her undergraduate degree from Alfred in 2020 in communications and earned a master's degree in business and marketing from the University in 2021. She was a three-time Dean's List selection, two-time President's List honoree, and a 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
 
Wilcox has coaching experience as an assistant coach for Pine Valley Central High School in 2019 and 2021, serves as assistant coach for the Amherst Lightning travel softball program, pitching coach for the Amherst Girls Softball League, and has taught individual lessons for youth ages 8 to 18.
