Rebecca Coleman has been hired by Buffalo State as the Sports Information Assistant beginning August 2014. Coleman will be responsible for assisting in coverage of all 18 varsity sports at Buffalo State as well as helping maintain the department website and social media accounts.
Prior to Buffalo State, Coleman served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications at The College at Brockport. With the Golden Eagles, Coleman was responsible for helping cover all 23 varsity sports. She worked closely with all the teams and also kept the department website and social media accounts up to date.  While at Brockport, Coleman helped in hosting the 2014 NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball First Round Regional.
Coleman also spent a year at York College of Pennsylvania as the Sports Information Intern. In her year with the Spartans, Coleman gained ample experience and worked closely with the 22 Division III teams. Coleman assisted in organizing and running four rounds of the 2012 NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament.
Coleman earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Communication with a minor in Film and Media Studies from Slippery Rock University in 2012. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Coleman was an intern in the Slippery Rock sports information department. As an intern, Coleman had the opportunity to work at the 2012 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First Round Regional held in Pittsburgh. She was also a four-year letter winner for the field hockey team and was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic team in each of her four seasons.
The graduate of Iroquois High School was a three-sport star for the Chiefs playing field hockey, basketball and track & field. She earned All-Western New York honors leading her field hockey team to the Section VI Class B championship in 2006.
Coleman is an active member of ECAC-SIDA. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Athletic Administration at Brockport.Â
