Serena Sordetto

Serena Sordetto has joined the Buffalo State women's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2023-24 season.

Sordetto's most recent coaching experience comes as the coach of the modified basketball team for the City of Tonawanda School District. She also works as Student Life Coordinator for Villa Maria College in Buffalo, helping to develop and implement programs for the student body on campus.  

Sordetto graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2022 with a degree in Sport Management. She also spent three seasons as a member of the Golden Eagles' women's basketball team. In her final season in 2021-22, Sordetto played in 20 games for Brockport, averaging 6.7 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game, while also accumulating 21 steals and 12 blocks. The forward also recorded a double-double against Buffalo State in that season, scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 11 assists.

A 2018 graduate of Kenmore East High School, Sordetto was a three-time All-League first team selection, two-time All-WNY honorable mention, League MVP, and 1,000-point scorer.
