Sue Roarke completed her eighth season in 2013-14 running her record to 106-100 overall, including five playoff berths. She was promoted to senior woman administrator and assistant athletics director in 2013.

Roarke led the Bengals to a school record 25-3 overall mark and captured the SUNYAC regular season title in 2011-12, and was honored as the SUNYAC Coach of the Year.

As the seventh coach in school history, she inherited a program that won 557 games since its inception in 1965, including nine State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships and has made 11 appearances in the NCAA playoffs.

Roarke came to Buffalo State with eight years of experience as a head coach at the Division III level. After beginning her head coaching career with five seasons at Russell Sage College (36-77), she took over the program at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2002. During her time at Stevens (47-37), her teams were .500 or better each year and she led the team to an ECAC postseason berth and a trip to a Skyline Conference championship game.

In 2005-06, Roarke served as an assistant coach at Division II Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass. Her other coaching experience includes working as an assistant coach with the Adirondack Region team in the 2000 Empire State Games. A member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association, she also served as a member of the NCAA Regional Rankings Committee in the Atlantic Region from 2003-05.

As a player, Roarke was a four-year starting point guard at Keuka College where she helped lead the team to ECAC and NYSWCAA postseason tournament appearances. Roarke was also a five-sport athlete at Catholic Central High School and was inducted into its athletics hall of fame in June, 2008.

A native of Troy, NY, she completed her bachelor's degree in secondary education from Keuka. She also earned master's degrees in sports studies and political science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
