Kara Haboian joined the Buffalo State sports medicine staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in October, 2021. She currently works with the Bengal football, men's and women's basketball, and softball teams.

Haboian, a Rochester, N.Y. native, received her training from the University at Buffalo, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2020 and her master’s degree in athletic training this past May. During that time, she earned the Carlton R. Myers Graduate Student Award for her exemplary work in the field and in the classroom.
 
She’s no stranger to Buffalo State, as she briefly worked with the football and softball programs during the spring 2019 semester prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. Haboian has also served as a student athletic trainer for D’Youville College, the University at Buffalo, and St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute High School. Haboian is also no stranger to championship events, as she’s served as a trainer during the NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional Championships and the Mid-American Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
Haboian has earned the following certifications:

  • AHA CPR, first aid, and AED certification - August 2019
