Markus Allen

Markus joined the Bengals' coaching staff in 2006 after spending two years coaching the WNY Jets Track Club and the Buffalo Pioneers. Allen was recognized by the USTFCCCA as the Women's National Assistant Coach of the Year, and the Atlantic Region Assistant Coach of the Year for both the men and the women during the 2011 indoor season and again for the women's team during the 2012 indoor season.  His sprinters have been a huge factor in capturing indoor SUNYAC Championships on the women's side in 2009, 2010 and 2011, and men's indoor SUNYAC and ECAC Championships in 2011.  A former two-time national champion and six-time All-American sprinter at the junior college level with Erie Community College, he went on to complete his collegiate running career at Buffalo State. As a Bengal, he set the school indoor records in the 55 and 200-meter dashes and also set the New York State record in the 200. Markus also captured seven New York State and five SUNYAC individual and relay championships.  At Buffalo State, he has coached several individual SUNYAC Champions, All-Americans and five individuals that have captured six national championships. A native of Harlem, he currently resides in Buffalo.
