Nate Ashton

Nate Ashton joined the Bengals staff as an assistant cross country and track and field coach for the 2018-19 seasons.  A former student-athlete at SUNY Cortland, he competed for four seasons and was part of the 2013 SUNYAC Cross Country championship team and also won three outdoor and one indoor SUNYAC team titles.

He has coached jumps, sprints and distance with the Bolts Track & Field Club from the Norwich Family YMCA from 2014-17 and also coached one season at Cortland, working primarily with the distance runners while heading up the team's academic monitoring.

He is a certified USATF Level 1 Track & Field Coach and has been working with elite/Olympic level pole vaulters since 2015 as a pole vault video analyst for USA Track & Field Sports Sciences Department.

A native of Norwich, N.Y., he earned a bachelor's in kinesiology and a master's in exercise science from Cortland.
