Michelle Donlon joined the Buffalo State women's hockey coaching staff as a volunteer for the 2018-19 season.

She previously served as the head coach for the University at Buffalo Club hockey team for three seasons from 2013-16 and was named the College Hockey East Coach of the Year in her final year.  Donlon also served two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Findlay.  Her other previous coaching experience includes two seasons as the head coach at Rice Memorial High School in Burlington, Vt., and one year as head coach at the Hebron Academy in Hebron, Me.  She was also an assistant women's lacrosse coach at the University of Vermont for one season.

She played four season with the club team at the University of Vermont, serving as the team president for one season and as team captain in her senior year.

A native of Farmington Hills, Mich., she has a bachelor's degree in terrestrial ecology from the University of Vermont.  She also has a master's in education from Findlay and a master's in applied nutrition from Canisius College.  Donlon also serves as an adjunct professor in health, nutrition and dietetics at the College.
