The Bengals were ranked as high as No. 14 in the country, the highest mark in program history and hosted the NCAA Regional first and second rounds at Coyer Field for the first time in school history.  It was the second-straight year (and second overall) that Buffalo State won the conference regular season title.

DeMarsh saw his team sweep the SUNYAC awards in 2016, winning the Offensive, Defensive, Rookie and Coach of the Year honors.

He picked up his 100th career win milestone after the Bengals defeated Oswego 2-1 in October of 2014.

DeMarsh took the head coaching position with the women’s team after spending four years as an assistant with the men’s program. He started as an assistant with the men’s program in 1997 and was part of the Bengals' team that qualified for the post season in 1998. His additional coaching experience includes 18 years of tutoring young boys and girls at Joe Machnik’s No. 1 Soccer Camps, and he also coached for the New York State West Olympic Development Program for five years.

He has served as a coach of U16 and U17 girl’s teams with several local premier clubs. In 2006, Coach DeMarsh led his Buffalo United U16 Girls Elite team to a New York State West State Cup Championship. In 2008, Coach DeMarsh lead his U16 Girls Elite team to a US Club Soccer National Championship title. More recently, DeMarsh made four consecutive trips to the New York State West State Cup Championships winning back to back titles (2012/2013) while coaching for Black Watch Soccer Club. He currently coaches the U17 girls premier team with Global Premier Soccer.

During his playing days, DeMarsh competed on the men’s team at Buffalo State for four seasons in the early 1990’s, earning All-SUNYAC honors for three consecutive years, and was named team MVP as a junior. Following his successful collegiate career, he spent one season with the Capital City District Alleycats of the USISL.
