Head Women’s Volleyball coach Maria Roberts has announced Kristen Bauer as her assistant coach for the upcoming 2022 season.
Bauer comes from a very experienced volleyball resume. She was the head coach at Division 1 Coastal Carolina University for 13 seasons. During her time leading the Chanticleers, she compiled 223 wins, the most in program history. Her team also held a 110-76 record against the Big South Conference. In 2008, the team posted a 27-9 record and finished as co-Champions of the Big South Conference. During the 2009 season, Bauer led her squad to a Big South Conference Tournament title, earning them a spot in the NCAA Tournament for just the third time in school history. In addition, Bauer also received Big South Coach of the Year honors in 2000 (in just her second year as the head coach), and again in 2005.
From 1995-1998, Bauer served as the assistant coach at Division 1 East Tennessee State University.
As a player, Kristen went to Ohio State, where she helped the Buckeyes win a Big Ten Title in 1990. During her time at Ohio State, she also served as the Men’s Volleyball Club head coach and as a coordinator for the Women’s Volleyball camps. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Science at Ohio State, and her master’s degree in Teaching from East Tennessee State.
The Buffalo, NY native attended Cardinal O’Hara High School where she was inducted into their Hall of Fame in 2005.
