Christian was named an assistant athletic director at Buffalo State in 2019. promoted to interim head football coach on Nov. 16, 2018.
In this role, he serves as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics senior leadership team and leads the department's efforts related to student support services including serving as the primary liaison for academics, housing, conduct, counseling, admissions/recruiting, and the registrar. Ozolins also assists with recruitment and development of corporate partnerships and major departmental fundraising efforts and supervises staff in recreation, intramurals and the fitness center
Ozolins first came to Buffalo State as an assistant football coach in 2003. He was promoted to assistant head coach and offensive coordinator in 2013 and served as the interim head coach in 2018.
His previous college coaching experience includes stints at Maryville, Methodist, Alfred and Hamilton. As a player, he played in the NAIA National Championship Game for Cumberland University in Tennessee.
He earned his bachelor’s in education from Cumberland and completed a master’s degree from Alfred University. He and his wife Shaton reside in South Buffalo with their son CJ.
