Marcus Gloss enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Buffalo State men's hockey team in 2025-26.
Gloss comes to Buffalo after serving as an assistant coach for his alma mater Finlandia University during the 2022-23 season. In his one season as assistant coach, Gloss helped the Lions double their win total from the previous season.
Prior to beginning his coaching career, Gloss was a five-year member of the Finlandia men's hockey team as a goaltender. He played in 84 games, starting all of them, for Finlandia, and registered a .900 save percentage and two shutouts for his career. Gloss also served as a volunteer goalie coach for the varsity hockey team at Houghton High School for six years.
At the conclusion of his collegiate playing career, Gloss signed to play professional hockey with the Vermilion County Bobcats in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
A native of Houghton, MI, Gloss played junior hockey in Vancouver Island, Pittsburgh, and Detroit before attending Finlandia. He graduated from the University in 2022.
