CORTLAND, NY—Jason Hill (Niagara Falls/Niagara Falls) scored just 2:15 into the game, but Buffalo State (0-1) fell to Geneseo (1-0), 2-1, this afternoon in the opening game of the season at the SUNYAC Challenge hosted by Cortland.

Hill opened the scoring with an unassisted tally early in the contest, but the Knights evened the score late in the opening frame on the power play. Geneseo tallied the eventual winner midway through the second period.

The Bengals outshot Geneseo, 20-16. Zach Grasley (Ancaster, ON/St. Mary's) made 14 saves for Buffalo State in his first collegiate start.

Buffalo State will battle Fredonia tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the final day of the SUNYAC Challenge.
