ONEONTA, NY—Buffalo State (1-5/0-1) dropped its SUNYAC opener at Oneonta (5-2/1-1) this evening, 59-49, despite leading by as many as 11 in the first half.

Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) led the Bengals with 13 points and added six rebounds and three steals. Dee Layne (Brooklyn/East NY Family Acad.) was the only other Bengal in double figures with 10 points.

Buffalo State jumped out to a 17-6 lead, but the Red Dragons closed the first half with a 23-2 run to lead 31-21 at the intermission. Oneonta extended its lead to as many as 19 in the second half and cruised to the 10-point win.

Buffalo State will travel to New Paltz tomorrow for another SUNYAC game at 2 p.m.
