BUFFALO, NY— Oswego (7-7/5-1) outscored host Buffalo State (3-12/2-5) 21-5 from the free throw line, catapulting the Lakers to a 57-46 victory in a SUNYAC game this afternoon at the Sports Arena.

Heather Merino (Queensbury/Lake George) paced Oswego with 17 points. Colleen McCready (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon) added 12 points and six rebounds off the bench. Kayla Ryan (Schaghticoke/Hoosick Valley) notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards and added five steals, and Traci Bacon (Massena/Massena) scored 11 points with seven rebounds.

Barb Kiliszek (Depew/Lancaster) led the Bengals with 14 points. Shareese Hamer (Erie, PA/Strong Vincent) and Jessica Clark (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) added 10 points each.

Oswego held Buffalo State scoreless for a stretch of more than six minutes and led at halftime, 25-16. The Bengals cut the deficit to five early in the second half, but the Lakers pulled away again and never let Buffalo State back within two possessions.

Buffalo State will not play again until next Saturday when it hosts Geneseo at 6 p.m.
