ADRIAN, MI — Buffalo State (2-7-1) (1-4) played its first game in the Adrian College Tournament in Michigan against the Concordia Cobbers (2-6-2), out of Moorhead, Minnesota, and came out with a 3-2 win as senior Shareef Labreche (Markham, ON/Markham District) scored the game-winning goal at 12:32 of the second period.

The Bengals opened the scoring at 4:06 of the first as Connor King (Brentwood, TN/Brentwood) scored his first goal of the season. The Cobbers responded at 6:14 in the first on the power play to stay within reach. Buffalo State went ahead 2-1 as freshman Mario Cote (North East, PA/North East) lit the lamp on the power play at 9:22 of the second. Labreche's fourth of the season from D'Arcy Thomas (Gatineau, PQ/Philemon Wright) and Tyler Soehner (Baden, ON/Waterloo Oxford) was the game winner. The Cobbers inched closer with a goal at 4:42 of the third, but the Bengals held on for the 3-2 victory.

Alan Fritch (Saginaw, MI/Heritage) was tending the nets for Buffalo State making 29 saves on 26 shots. The Bengals were outshot 31-26.

The next action for Buffalo State is tomorrow against Saint John's University at 3 p.m. for its second game of the Adrian College Tournament.
