ALBANY, NY—Freshman Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) netted a game-high 18 points to lift visiting Buffalo State (2-3) to a 68-57 victory tonight in a non-conference game at Albany College of Pharmacy (2-8).

Alyssa Kinney (Bellport/Bellport) helped the Bengals cause with a double-double, netting 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds, and Sarah Thompson (Delmar/Bethlehem) had nine points and six boards.

Buffalo State trailed by one late in the first half, but closed the period on a 7-0 run and led 34-27 at the intermission. The Bengals pulled away in the second half extending their lead to as many as 17 before coasting to the 11-point win.

Buffalo State will remain on the road tomorrow for a 2 p.m. tip at Morrisville State.
