BUFFALO, NY—Buffalo State (10-11-4/5-7-4) clinched its fourth playoff berth in as many years with a 4-1 win over visiting Brockport (13-9-3/7-7-2) in the SUNYAC regular season finale for both teams tonight at the Ice Arena.

Jason Hill (Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls) had two goals and two assists for the Bengals. Nicholas Petriello (St. Catharines, ON/Holy Cross) had a goal and two assists and Joel Sheppard (Pefferlaw, ON/Sutton District) added one goal. Ryan Silveira (Brampton, ON/Plattsburgh State) scored the lone tally for Brockport.

Buffalo State scored in the opening and closing minute of the first period to take a 2-0 lead into intermission. After a scoreless second period, Buffalo State extended its lead to 3-0 in the third before Brockport got on the board at the 19:25 mark. The Bengals tacked on an empty net goal just 19 seconds later to close out the scoring.

Buffalo State was 1 for 4 on the power-play, while Brockport was 0 for 10, in game that saw of total of 132 total penalty minutes handed out.

No. 6 Buffalo State will travel to No. 3 Geneseo for a SUNAYC quarterfinal game Tuesday at 7 p.m.
