ITHACA, NY—
Katie Henderson (Hamburg/Frontier) became the fifth player in school history to score 100 career points, leading Buffalo State (4-1) to a 17-12 victory over Ithaca (2-2) today at Schoellkopf Field at Cornell University.
Henderson tallied a game-high five goals, giving her 97 goals and 104 points in her career in just 33 games.
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had three goals and two assists, and
Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo) also scored three times.
Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) picked up two goals and two assists,
Marilyn Kush (East Aurora/East Aurora) had two goals and one assist, Jennifer Tierney (Massapequa/Massapequa) and
Leanna Pace (Niskayuna/Niskayuna) also scored for the Bengals.
Ashley O'Brien (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made 10 saves as Buffalo State was outshot, 31-27. The Bengals fell behind 5-0 in the first 10 minutes, but rallied to lead 9-8 at halftime, and then scored the first five goals of the second period and never looked back.
Buffalo State will meet Western Connecticut State in West Palm Beach, Fla. on Saturday at 5 p.m.
