CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (3-1) split a pair of games on its second day of its spring trip at the US National Training Center today, falling to Elmhurst (5-1) 6-0, before bouncing back with a 9-2 win over Eastern Connecticut (3-1).

Elmhurst scored six runs on nine hits, and limited the Bengals to just five hits in the day's first game. Freshman Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) was 1 for 3 with a double for Buffalo State. Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) took the loss, throwing six innings, allowing four earned runs with two strikeouts. Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) pitched the seventh inning, retiring the side in order.

Buffalo State exploded for six runs on four hits in the fourth inning against Eastern Connecticut to break a 2-2 tie. The Bengals added another run in the sixth to complete the scoring. Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) scattered eight hits for the win on the mound and was 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs at the plate. Marissa Mariano (Williamsville/Mt. St. Mary) and Carly Lopez (Oriskany/Oriskany) were both 2 for 3 with an RBI, and Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was 2 for 4 with two runs scored.

Buffalo State will play Manchester and Lawrence tomorrow at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
