CLERMONT, Fla.—Buffalo State (5-1) swept a twin bill, defeating Manchester (4-7), 4-1, and then downed Lawrence (0-4), 6-0, today at the US National Training Center.

Manchester scored a run in the top of the first in the opening game, but Buffalo State responded with four runs of its own in the first three innings and never looked back. Freshman Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) paced the Bengals at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was 2 for 3, and Lindsay Goff (Patterson/Brewster) went 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Aimee Fisher (Hamburg/Frontier) was strong in her first start of the season, earning the win while surrendering just four with no earned runs and three strikeouts.

Buffalo State converted seven hits into six runs against Lawrence. Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) tossed a complete-game four-hitter with four strikeouts for the shutout win. Banach was 2 for 2 with a triple and an RBI. Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) was 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs.

Buffalo State will continue its visit to Clermont, Fla. on Wednesday against Wellesley at 11:30 a.m. and then will face Western Connecticut at 1:30 p.m.
