GENESEO, NY--Buffalo State (11-1/5-0) scored the final five goals of the game to overcome a four-goal second-half deficit and earn its 11th consecutive victory, 11-10, over host Geneseo (5-4/2-3) in a SUNYAC contest this afternoon. The Bengals 11th win of the year set a new school record for wins in a season with four regular season games remaining.
Katie Henderson (Hamburg/Frontier) paced the Bengals' attack with five goals, and
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) had three goals and an assist.
Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) chipped in a pair of goals, and
Renee Glass (Scotia/Scotia-Glenville) had a goal to complete the scoring.
Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) added four assists.
After trailing 5-4 at halftime, the Bengals fell deeper into a hole, trailing 10-6 with just under 14 minutes remaining in the game. Buffalo State then erupted for five goals in a span of six minutes and 17 seconds, capped by Glass's game-winner with 6:31 remaining.
Buffalo State outshot the Knights, 23-19. Ashley O'Brien (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made six saves for Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will travel to New Paltz for a 1 p.m. contest this Saturday.
