OSWEGO, NY—Jenna Frieling (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) tossed her second no-hitter of the season to help Buffalo State (24-10/15-5) sweep Oneonta (17-19/10-8), 8-2 and 4-0, on a neutral field today in Oswego.

The Bengals blasted the Red Dragons 8-2 in the opener behind Nicole Sabuda (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) who allowed just six hits with 10 strikeouts and went 2 for 4 at the plate with a homerun and three RBIs. Jolene Banach (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) was 2 for 2 with two runs scored, and Becky Shank (Williamsville/Williamsville East) went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Frieling had six strikeouts in a no-hit shutout in the late game. Marissa Mariano (Williamsville/Mt. St. Mary) belted a solo-homerun, and Nicole Maher (Waterloo/Waterloo) and
Kyrstin Lekki (N. Tonawanda/Niagara-Wheatfield) each went 2 for 4.

Buffalo State will wrap up the regular season at home tomorrow with a doubleheader against Ithaca. The Bengals finished the SUNYAC schedule tied for second, but lose the tiebreaker to Brockport. Buffalo State will enter the SUNYAC playoffs as the No. 3 seed on Thursday at Cortland and will face No. 4 Geneseo at 1 p.m. to open the tournament.
