BUFFALO, NY--
Katie Henderson (Lakeview/Frontier) tallied nine goals and two assists to pace Buffalo State (9-1/3-0) to its ninth consecutive win, 21-10, over visiting Oswego (4-5/0-3) in a SUNYAC game today at Coyer Field.
Buffalo State continued its assault on the school's record book today, equaling or breaking six records. Henderson became the school's all-time leading goal scorer, bringing her career total to 121. She also set new school records for goals and points in a game with nine and 11 respectively. As a team, the Bengals broke the mark for goals in a half with 16, and matched the record for goals in a game with 21. Buffalo State also extended its school-record winning streak.
Kendyl Clarkson (Painted Post/Corning West) bolstered the Bengals' attack with five goals and four assists.
Stephanie Georgopoulos (Pt. Jefferson Station/Comsewogue) picked up two goals and an assist.
Mariah DeBolt (Waterloo/Waterloo),
Marilyn Kush (East Aurora/East Aurora) and Jennifer Tierney (Massepequa/Massapequa) added in a goal apiece, and
Karen Shaddock (Corning/Corning East) had four assists.
Buffalo State jumped out to a 16-6 lead by the intermission and held the Lakers at bay in the second half. The Bengals held a narrow 37-35 margin in shots. Ashley O'Brien (Honeoye Falls/Honeoye Falls-Lima) made 14 saves for Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will visit Oneonta on Saturday for a 1 p.m. start.
