ONEONTA, NY— Oneonta (9-5/7-0) limited Buffalo State (7-5/2-3) to its lowest offensive output of the season in a 57-39 victory in a SUNYAC matchup today at Dewar Arena.

Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) was the lone Bengal to score in double-figures with 15 points and added nine rebounds. Dee Layne (Brooklyn/East NY Family Academy) chipped in seven points and nine boards. The next highest Buffalo State scorer had four points.

Buffalo State opened the game with a 12-5 lead, but the Red Dragons roared back with a 22-1 run and closed the opening stanza with a 34-19 advantage. Oneonta held the Bengals at bay for the remainder of the game, limiting Buffalo State to just 21-percent shooting from the field, 7-percent 3-point shooting, and 47-percent free-throw shooting.

Buffalo State will return home on Tuesday to host Geneseo at 6 p.m.
