Geneseo Pulls Away From Women’s Basketball, 66-45

BUFFALO, NY—Junior Khadija Campbell (Middletown/Middletown) netted a career-high 19 points to lead visiting Geneseo (7-6/3-3) to a 66-45 victory over Buffalo State (7-6/2-4) in a SUNYAC contest tonight at the Sports Arena.

Brittany Finkle (Windsor/Windsor) added 14 points off the bench for the Blue Knights, and Alyssa Polosky (Endicott/Union-Endicott) had nine points and nine rebounds.

Jessica Clark (Fulton/G. Ray Bodley) led Buffalo State with 13 points. Dee Layne (Brooklyn/East NY Family Academy) added 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Staci McElroy (Saratoga Springs/Saratoga Springs) had eight points and nine boards.

Geneseo led by as many as 10 in the opening period and carried a 35-27 advantage into the intermission. The Blue Knights extended their lead to 26 in the second half and cruised to the win. Geneseo shot 47-percent for the game, compared to 28-percent shooting by the Bengals, and outscored Buffalo State 40-18 in the paint.

Buffalo State will travel to Oswego on Friday for another SUNYAC game at 6 p.m.
